Response to Interrogatories

The plaintiff will send you a list of questions that can be related to personal information such as your name, address, your social security number, where you bank, and more. You can object to the question and explain the grounds for your objection. Or you can simply answer the interrogatory with a simple answer.

You can also object to a part interrogatories and answer other parts. For example, you could say: ‘defendant objects to giving out his social security number on the grounds that it ______________. The defendant answers that his full name is John Franklin Doe’.

All objections to interrogatories must state the grounds for your objection, or put another way, why you are objecting to that particular question.
